God Delights in Me

God delights in me.

Uncreated Creator.

Eternal by nature.

Keeper of Heaven and Earth.

Holy beyond measure.

Unrivaled in beauty.

Unhindered in ability.

Unyielding in pursuit.

This God.

Delights in me.

It isn’t bound by what I’ve done or where I’ve been.

It isn’t positioned by my coming and my going.

No, it pleased Him to reveal His Son to me.

To call me by His grace.

His delight is His salvation.

His salvation is my hope.

This hope - it is for all.

An intimately personal, yet fully universal hope.

A hope that shepherds 99, but seeks after 1.

A hope that feeds the masses while providing for the individual.

A hope that isn’t tethered to circumstance or status, but is deeply-rooted in the sufficient work of Christ on the Cross.

This hope marks me.

It shapes me.

It compels me to abide, to rest, to live in the fullness of Jesus.

Yet, it has nothing to do with me.

By grace, it was freely given.

And in conviction, I give it away - until every person knows of His delight in them. His salvation for them. This hope that is theirs.

God delights in me.

What’s more? He delights in you too.
